Special Projects - Irrigation Schemes

Our annual Summer Expedition team has been working with the local Bedouin community in Sinai, Egypt, for approximately 4 years on this multi level irrigation scheme. It is an excellent example of one of the long-term sustainable projects we are working on in collaboration with the Bedouin.

The project’s original aim was to create pools of water for approximately 100 families and their livestock. Working together, we were inspired to expand the project to include new goals such as rejuvenating watermelon gardens that have not been used for a generation.

After twelve years of working with the Bedouin, we plan to ensure the potential for local projects keeps on growing!
